to our Native Breast Cancer Awareness Walk/Run
event page! We are excited for this year’s amazing event. Every year, we seem to gather more families which is what makes this event special. For those who are returning for year 2 or year 4 or maybe year 9, THANK YOU for reminding us that even through this time of resiliency, nothing can hold back FAMILY STRONG! We look forward to seeing everyone next year on the 3rd Saturday of October; October 21, 2023, at Elk Grove Regional Park. .
To increase breast cancer awareness and screening, especially for Native American women. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death for Native American women. It’s estimated that approximately 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer in her lifetime. Our goal is to raise awareness and encourage women to screen early.
Partner and Sponsorships:
This event couldn’t be possible without the love and support from our local partners. We encourage local business and Tribal organizations to partner with us to further elevate the voice of our survivors and increase awareness for this important cause.
Although we are not a non-profit, Wilton Rancheria is a Federally Recognized Indian Tribe, and Section 7871 of the Internal Revenue Code provides that Indian Tribal Governments are treated as states for the purposes of determining the deductibility of charitable contributions and gifts under IRC section 170.
